Canaanite Galaxy is a dj set of Dabke and galactic pop sounds from Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Syria and Beyond.
CG2 is a selection dedicated only to the wedding live recordings extracted from hundreds of pirate mp3 CDs purchased through Aleppo & Damascus during the 2010 Spring.
Syrian wedding parties are usually livened by gypsy musicians playing during 6 hours and more. The feast is recorded and given to the married couple and family. Later, this recordings are shared from hand to hand and some modest labels compile and sold it on a low cost way.
There isn't copyrights in Syria for musicians, because of this they use this method to receive a extra promotion to be hired in more communal events.
I don't know what happened which this kind of artist during the last 4 apocalyptic years, but I think, in some cases, life goes on.
